Weld neck flange (also known as flange neck) is a common pipe connection method, usually used in high pressure, high temperature or high vibration environment. In addition to our common basic knowledge of weld neck flanges, the following are some less common knowledge:
The length of the weld neck flange is usually standard, but can be customized according to the requirements of specific applications. For example, for pipes that require the installation of thermal insulation, a longer flange neck can be provided to ensure that the insulation can completely cover the flange neck.
The inside diameter of the flange neck is usually the same as the pipe inside diameter to ensure minimum resistance and best hydrodynamic performance. However, in some applications, a smaller internal diameter of the flange neck can be used to reduce the impact on fluid flow.
